About the job:
The temporary Water/Wastewater Systems Operator will perform a variety of entry-level duties including but not limited to water system valve exercising, water system flushing, sewer hydro-cleaning, closed circuit television sewer inspection, general facilities maintenance and other related tasks as assigned.
Hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 am to 4:00 p.m. and four hours on Friday. This assignment is scheduled to end no later than June 30, 2017, with total hours not to exceed 1000.

Essential Functions:
Performs a variety of entry-level duties in the areas of water distribution and sewer collections.
Drives a motor vehicle.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Training and Experience:
Experience working in a water/wastewater facility; general knowledge of water distribution and treatment and/or possession of a California Department of Public Health Water Distribution Certificate is highly desirable.
Possession of a Class C license is required.
Other Recruitment Standards:
Due to CalPERS regulations regarding temporary employment, no active CalPERS members will be considered for this position; however, qualified CalPERS retirees are encouraged to apply.
Any candidate(s) selected for this temporary position shall be required to successfully complete a background check and drug/alcohol screening prior to beginning the assignment. Additionally, selected candidate(s) will be subject to monthly review of his/her driving record.
