Digestate Sludge Dewatering  Digestate out of a biogas production process is still rich in various nutrients. It makes sense that these nutrients should be returned to the farmland where new biogas substrate is grown. As liquid digestate cannot be applied during all seasons of the year, and often the transportation distances are too far, dewatering of the digestate is essential.   1. We use a "plate and frame" filter press for sludge dewatering. If you want to send a sample of the sludge, we can do a filterability study to size the press and determine the proper cloth selection. I've put quite a few of these in for dewatering sludge from dissolved air flotation (DAF) systems.
